Privacy Policy
ForkPilot is a Chrome extension that helps users search browser content from one place, including bookmarks, browsing history, currently open tabs, frequently visited sites, recently closed pages, and optional download records.
Data Collection
ForkPilot does not collect, store, or transmit user data to developer-controlled servers. Core search processing happens locally in the browser.
- Bookmarks are searched locally through the Chrome bookmarks API.
- Browsing history is searched locally through the Chrome history API.
- Open tabs, recently closed pages, top sites, and download records are accessed locally through Chrome APIs.
- Extension settings, search-source preferences, theme preferences, quick-access data, and search history are stored in Chrome storage on the user's browser profile.
External Requests
When the user explicitly performs a web search, ForkPilot uses Chrome Search API so the query is handled by the browser's current default search provider. This request does not pass through developer-controlled servers.
When the user pins a link to quick access, ForkPilot may fetch the target page's Open Graph metadata such as title, description, and image to display a preview card. This request is made directly from the browser to the target website and does not pass through developer-controlled servers. Only public http/https URLs are fetched; local addresses and private-network addresses are blocked.
Permissions Usage
- bookmarks: Search saved bookmarks and bookmark folders.
- history: Search browsing history.
- tabs: Search currently open tabs and switch to matching pages.
- downloads: Search local download records when this source is enabled in the extension.
- sessions: Access recently closed tabs or pages and restore them when requested.
- search: Send user-initiated web searches through the browser's default search provider via Chrome Search API.
- storage: Save settings, search-source preferences, theme preferences, quick-access data, and search history.
- topSites: Show frequently visited sites.
- favicon: Display website icons in search results.
Data Sharing
ForkPilot does not sell user data and does not transfer user data for advertising, profiling, credit evaluation, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's core functionality.

权限用途

ForkPilot 不会出售用户数据，也不会为了广告投放、用户画像、信用评估或与扩展核心功能无关的目的转移用户数据。
